The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $253,000 - $316,000



Job Summary:



The Vice President will lead the project management and execution aspects of specific Renewables Offshore Wind Projects.


The Vice President is a critical role within the offshore business focusing on the project management and delivery aspects of the workstream of the Project which includes among others direct execution and delivery responsibility of main packages (contracts and scopes of work) such as, Wind Turbines, Foundations, Array Cables Offshore Installation, Substations, Export Cables, and any other assigned packages.


The Vice President has overall responsibility for managing the package teams that deliver the Project and has complete overall responsibility to ensure a safe and successful execution. This includes ensuring that H&S is paramount in all considerations, delivered on time, on budget while meeting the required quality standards, close management and liaison with internal stakeholders, management, and coordination of internal and external resources & critically, securing a route to market for the project supported by an innovative contract
strategy.


The Vice President is responsible for establishing a team of experts to define technical, logistical, and contracting strategies, determining CAPEX budgets for projects, tendering, negotiating, and managing multi- million/billion offshore delivery contracts.



Job Duties:



  • Main point of contact for assigned EPC workstreams.


  • Lead assigned packages of the Project.


  • Develop a clear delivery strategy for the assigned packages.


  • Implement an innovative contracting strategy designed to drive the maximum value for the business case.


  • Implement the approved project organization, and ensure the organization is adequately resourced.


  • Drive key project milestones and adjust priorities within the Project's EPC processes.


  • Communicate effectively with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.


  • Function in complex project organizational structures requiring management that consists of multiple disciplines, with both internal and external resources.


  • Manage and motivate multicultural and geographically dispersed teams.


  • Develop, hold, and control any additional processes and procedures (over and above the standard offshore procedures) required to develop and construct the Project.


  • Ensure compliance of the standard processes and procedures to the Project. A close level of oversight and audit is expected.


  • Ensure alignment of EPC and Development scopes in the Project.


  • Develop adequately balanced risk profiles through the design of the projects.


  • Provide innovative ideas and problem solving as required to successfully execute the Project.


  • Assess and report Project risks and schedule performance regularly.


  • Ensure the Project gets all permits to be constructed.


  • Represent the business within the industry and participate in industry wide initiatives.


  • Transfer knowledge and lessons learned on the Project striving for continuous improvement.


  • Act as an escalation route for contractor disputes for windfarm workstreams.


  • Align with Offshore business priorities and inter-project synergies.


  • Deals with the senior leadership team attending and presenting at regular senior management meetings.


  • Close management and liaison with multiple stakeholders at various levels.


  • Coordinates and supports key expertise from within the offshore business.


  • Collaborates with all departments to ensure necessary input into the contract strategy and business case.


  • Interacts with Avangrid Corporate Functions, as needed.


  • Leads and instructs direct reports.


  • Maintains key relationships with windfarm related contractors and suppliers.





Skills, Knowledge & Experience:



  • Degree and/or professional qualification in a relevant discipline - Project Management or Mechanical/Electrical/Marine Engineering.


  • MBA desirable.


  • Must have at least 15 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities.


  • Substantial leadership experience in complex, multidisciplinary projects, and teams.


  • Experience in leading a package of an offshore wind project.


  • Professional qualification in Project Management.


  • Experience in offshore wind industry with extensive technical and practical knowledge of offshore wind technology.


  • Knowledge of H&S, regulatory and environmental legislation associated with construction projects.


  • Proven capability of delivering against multiple objectives.


  • Experience in long term planning horizon and scheduling for all contracting activities relating to project delivery.


  • Experience in setting annual team and individual goals, managing reviews and performance.


  • Experience in developing and managing annual and project budgets.


  • Good understanding of US offshore wind development and permitting processes including relevant stakeholders.





Skills/Abilities:



  • IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management software.


  • Flexible to travel to wherever the stakeholders and authorities are located.


  • Proactive, agile, and diligent approach.


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.


  • Ability to work under pressure and to deliver against tight Deadlines.


  • Good organizational skills with the ability to link commercial awareness to contractual judgement and decision making.


  • Ability to resolve conflicts and build consensus in decision-making.


  • Ability to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing in working environment and demonstrate a positive attitude to change.


  • High degree of self-motivation with a flexible approach to work.


  • Ownership mindset while striving for rigor.
