POSITION PURPOSE

The Benefits & 401k Analyst works collaboratively with the Total Rewards team, HR business partners, and various external vendors to support the implementation of new systems, process standardization, auditing, analysis, communications, compliance, and administration, as needed. The Analyst will research, assess, interpret, and manage corporate benefits programs and 401k; provide timely and accurate administration for all benefits plans and 401k plan to ensure program compliance; be the principal point of contact for benefits and 401k communication and research.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Sunland's Core Values at the forefront.
  • Must be an advocate of safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate market trends and research to create benefit packages.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners to ensure alignment with company goals and strategies.
  • Analyze effectiveness of total reward programs and suggest improvements if needed.
  • Works with department leaders, finance teams, and talent acquisition professionals to determine market trends, industry benchmarks, and employee needs, for benefits.
  • Analyzing employee benefit packages to ensure competitive offerings.
  • Collaborate on developing and administering benefit plans and wellness program, including health insurance and retirement plans.
  • Analyze and evaluate all benefit plans in partnership with the broker, to ensure cost effectiveness, plans are competitive, and meet the needs of both the company and employees.
  • Demonstrate effective vendor relationship building (Broker, Benefit Administrator, Equifax, and 401k).
  • Own annual open enrollment activities including plan design in partnership with benefits broker.
  • Assist with developing and administering communication strategy to educate employees on benefit programs and changes, including New Employee Orientation benefit presentation. Education should ensure employees understand benefits and available resources.
  • Own company leave programs (LOA, FMLA and ADA) for managing compliance with state and federal laws, ensure data accuracy with vendors.
  • Assist and support M&A initiatives as a member of the HR Team.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Remain up to date on federal, state, and local laws related to the company and communicate necessary policy updates accordingly.
  • Support the Comp & Compliance Analyst as needed.

SAFETY

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • This position operates in a professional office environment that routinely uses standard office equipment requiring the ability to communicate in person and over the telephone with other employees, the ability to interpret printed materials and a computer screen, the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, the ability to lift and carry supplies and files weighing up to 10 pounds and to move about the inside of the office to access supplies, office machinery, etc.
  • Hybrid work environment available at Leader's discretion.
  • Employee may be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.

POSITION TYPE/ EXPECTED HOURS


  • This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL


  • Minimal travel required with advanced notice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience


  • 5+ years of benefits, employee perk programs, or other directly related experience preferred.
  • Bilingual: Spanish fluency desired.
  • Demonstrated experience with market research, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of group health and welfare and retirement programs.
  • Must be knowledgeable on all related laws and regulations.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communications skills, and effective organizational, presentation, supervisory and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite, advanced spreadsheet capabilities in Excel (Pivot-Tables, VLookUps, etc.) required.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills with a sense of urgency.
  • The ability to both, support and assist with Comp & Compliance related activities.
  • Process improvement oriented and the ability to make recommendations and decisions.
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience.
  • Flexible and proactive problem solver adept at achieving results in a team-oriented and collaborative environment, but also able to function effectively working independently.
  • Is a self-starter, takes initiative and ownership, demonstrates professionalism and maturity to handle sensitive/confidential information and make sound decisions.
  • Strong internal and external customer focus and demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in a dynamic, frequently changing, and fast paced environment.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS


  • A valid driver's license and a clean motor-vehicle record preferred.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required.
