Foundry Process Control Analyst

OVERVIEW:

The Foundry Process Control Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of foundry operations by conducting various tests and inspections throughout the casting process. This position performs essential sand tests, manages document control, and inspects molds, cores, and castings at different stages. Additionally, the analyst actively logs calibrations and responds to nonconformance notifications within the SAP system, demonstrating a solid commitment to maintaining industry standards and compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety and Quality Leadership:

  • Inspects foundry molds and cores to ensure conformity to standards.
    Conducts sand hardness, tensile, loss of ignition (LOI), and grain fineness (GFN) tests.

Team Leadership and Development:
Assists in calibrating foundry blenders and shares knowledge of foundry operations.

Decision-Making and Initiative:
Creates and manages SAP nonconformance notifications to address issues promptly.

Planning and Coordination:
- Compiles organizes, and retrieves completed foundry check sheet documents efficiently.

Inventory and Asset Management:
- Inspects incoming purchased cores to ensure compliance with foundry standards.

Training and Communication:
- Reads and understands foundry work instructions to support team training and compliance.

Supervision and Delegation:
- Maintains oversight of inspections at various process stages to ensure adherence to foundry procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience

2+ years of experience in foundry molding

Level 1 or higher LPI certification is a plus

Level 1 or higher UT certification is a plus

SAP experience preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently: Standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling <75 lbs.
  • Occasionally: Overhead work, climbing ladders or stairs, driving forklifts, operating cranes.
