Job Summary
As a Manufacturing Engineer at BPMI, you will interface with engineers in other technical disciplines (mechanical, electrical, materials, quality assurance) and utilize your part design, fabrication, inspection, and assembly knowledge to influence designs and manufacturing processes, to resolve manufacturing related problems at suppliers, to troubleshoot problems with in-service equipment, and to provide manufacturing engineering fundamentals training.
Essential Duties:
Provide manufacturing support for the design and fabrication of equipment in the areas of machining, forming, welding, brazing, inspection, assembly, and material handling.
Perform manufacturability reviews of equipment detailed designs considering processing, assembly, fit-up and alignment, and use of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Provide manufacturing support to help resolve in-service issues.
Provide manufacturing cost estimate support.
Provide GD&T, dimensional inspection, drawing interpretation, and manufacturability training to mechanical, electrical, material, and quality assurance engineers.
Perform dimensional inspections including use of coordinate-measuring devices.
Support efforts to increase use of digital and automated inspection processes.
Support efforts in directly using computer-aided design models in manufacturing and inspection.
Support efforts in developing additive manufacturing processes.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
Twelve (12) or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirement.
Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Experience with reading manufacturing drawings and the application of GD&T.
Proficient with CAD software.
Experience with providing cost estimates for shop operations.
