The Scheduler/Planner II will provide tactical direction and hands-on planning and scheduling support to the plant operations and supply chain functions. Responsible for planning, buying, scheduling, and processing jobs for machine, assembly, and coating for stock and/or one location. Coordinate activities and scheduling of production departments with receipts of materials. Review, update and control machine and assembly schedule using Syteline to ensure on-time delivery goals are met. The Scheduler/Planner II works independently to establish procedures for centralized demand estimating plus production planning throughout the location assigned.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
Monitor manufacturing job status' for shortages that would affect orders on assembly and machining schedule.
Monitor and enforce actions on the back log report to maintain accurate due dates.
Communicate changes in due dates to internal customers and leadership.
Complete inbound transfers from all sites, properly sourcing to each job, customer order line, and stock.
Complete/Convert requisitions for all purchased material, properly sourcing to each job, and customer order line.
Partner with vendors to ensure timely, accurate delivery.
Work with Production Manager to analyze capacity constraints that may affect future commitments and other similar scheduling/planning considerations; make necessary adjustments in Syteline.
Works closely with the Production Manager, Customer Service Manager, and Purchasing, to maintain schedules and ensure materials are here in a timely manner.
Ensure conformance with quality and/or ISO requirements.
Handles and completes production packet requirements for each order, and job sent to production.
Stays informed of developments and changes in production techniques and methods.
Special projects and additional duties assigned.
Education/Certification
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Associate degree or equivalent experience
Experience Required
Three or more years of planning in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with MRP systems preferably in a multi-plant environment.
Required Knowledge
Understanding of product, commodities, and supplies
Project management practices and procedures
Thorough understanding of financial and operational functions
Processes for accessing information from financial accounting systems
