Responsibilities

The Pilot II is responsible for safe operation of the aircraft in accordance with FAR part 91 regulations. The Pilot II will normally facilitate the collection of aerial survey data (LiDAR and imagery), normally within the continental United States. Other types of missions may be assigned based on the needs of the company. The Pilot II will adhere to all safety practices and procedures, display professionalism, collaborate positively with your crew and all other crews.

  • Demonstrates the Company’s vision and mission, while successfully performing its core values related to employees, ethics, operational excellence, safety, integrity and corporate social responsibility
  • Assist with the pre-coordination of controlled and restricted airspace and required
  • Coordinate on the day of any controlled and restricted airspace along the mission for the day
  • Ensure all safety policies and company policies are followed
  • Monitor and assess weather reports to make go/no go decisions
  • File flight plans as required for safety of flight. Flight following required when able
  • Ensure all paperwork is done daily and timely as required
  • Work with sensor operator / crew to ensure missions are completed in a safe and efficient manner
  • Required to observe, track and report whether pilots and crew are following all established procedures for the safety of the operation and for the guaranteed quality of the work being performed
  • Set and maintain a standard of cleanliness of all aircraft that reflects corporate image
  • Annual flight time is normally 600 hours per year
  • Other tasks as assigned to accomplish the Company’s strategic goals
  • Safety sensitive positions require Essential Mental Alertness which requires a constant state of alertness and safety;
    • A high level of cognitive function and judgement
    • Not mentally or physically impaired from any cause that can adversely affect ability to safely and competently perform duties of their position
    • Ability to take prompt and appropriate response in operating conditions
    • Ability to work in an unfatigued state
    • Ability to accurately gauge lengths of time and distance
    • Ability to quickly store and recall instructions in short term memory
    • Ability to concentrate
    • Ability to cope with sudden changes in surroundings and/or emergency situations and demonstrate a caring, committed and concerned attitude about safety
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities


Qualifications



  • 1,200 hours Total Time - Minimum
  • 100 hours logged cross-country
  • 40 hours logged night
  • 15 hours logged actual instrument
  • 25 hours in make and model – Preferred
  • Commercial experience - Required
  • Garmin G1000 flight deck experience
  • Experience flying aerial survey missions / corridor aerial missions - Preferred
  • Able to precisely hand fly survey lines paths within 50 feet of desired targeted track
  • Prior military experience is strongly weighted
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certification with:
    • Single Engine Land
    • Multi-engine Land Preferred
    • Instrument Rating and Current
  • Current FAA Second Class Medical
  • Ability to work in the U.S.
  • Clean FAA record
  • Instrument Current
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods up to 21 days
  • Must be drug free and submit to random testing
  • Required to maintain all necessary currency requirements (flight time provided by company)
