Customer Relations Representative

  $18.59 - $19.12 Hourly

The Customer Relations Representative will play a pivotal role in supporting the various City departments by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. As the first point of contact for the department, the successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Job Duties

  • Provide courteous and professional assistance to all customers, including co-workers, community members, and the general public.
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment that aligns with the City's policies, procedures, and goals.
  • Answer incoming phone calls promptly and respond to resident inquiries and concerns in a professional and informative manner.
  • Accurately document all customer interactions and concerns.
  • Perform general clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and photocopying.
  • Assist with administrative projects as needed.

Working Hours:
Monday-Friday 4:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications – Education, experience, and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR.

  • Associate degree required
    • High school diploma combined with equivalent experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with this position.

  • General knowledge of the City in order to answer questions from the public.
  • Proficiency in use of basic business software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentations) and basic office equipment.
  • Ability to perform routine tasks.
  • Ability to work independently under direct supervision and make responsible decisions.
  • Ability to solve problems within defined parameters and under clearly established processes.
  • Clear verbal communication skills and ability to give and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently under direct supervision and make responsible decisions.
  • Ability to use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential job duty. Job requires being reliable, responsible and dependable.
