About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and successful Assistant Project Manager who will apply construction engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assignments and assist the Sr. Project Manager in partnership with the project team. This position maintains project data, including drawings and specifications, coordinates testing and quality control inspections, and prepares reports on construction progress.

This is a long term (2+ years), full-time, on-site position located in Newark, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Management, review, and oversight of the project design to ensure compliance with Contract Documents.
  • Provide support and oversight of construction and associated work.
  • Work directly with the Program Integration Team to ensure the design and construction is in accordance with the interface requirements provided by the System Technology.
  • Develop an understanding of the contractual (technical/commercial) requirements of the Design-Build contract; review various submittals in accordance with the contract requirements.
  • Working with the Lead Project Manager, prime project managers, authorities, and other Project Subject Matter Expert (SME) staff to review, coordinate, and oversee the design work.
  • Distribute and review various designs and consolidate review comments from the Project Team and others to ensure consistency and compliance with the Design-Build contract.
  • Support the Construction Management Division (CMD) in supporting the construction phase of the project, ensuring interfaces and contract requirements are understood and implemented.
  • Support the Project Team in testing and commissioning the project and other fixed facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with the design and construction of rail or roadway bridge structures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering or construction management.
  • 10+ years of experience with the design and construction of rail or roadway bridge structures.
  • Experience with Design-Build contracts in design, construction, or implementation.
  • Experience overseeing Design-Build contracts for the Owner.
  • Professional Engineering License (NJ preferred).

Compensation Details

The salary range listed for this role is $104k-$208k annually ($50-100/hr.) The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidates level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
