SDET/Automation Test Engineer at Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC in Greenwood Village, Colorado

Job Description:

Seeking a junior-to-mid level QA Automation engineer or developer with strong REST API and backend manual & automation test experience. Job involves working with microservices based on API endpoints and message-driven processes. We are looking for an automation-focused team member to increase our automated test coverage who is also willing to participate in manual testing for system familiarization and team cohesion.


Requirements
Must have:
* 2-8 years of experience
* Strong understanding of REST concepts and API testing
* Strong Java & JUnit backend automation skills
* Understanding of core programming concepts (e.g. serialization, mapping, Java collections, asynchronous programming)
* End-to-end testing experience with microservices
* Defect troubleshooting & debugging experience
* Documentation/technical writing skills
* Written and verbal communication skills

Experience in/with:
* Java, especially Junit and Spring Boot & Spring Framework
* Common Java-related tools (e.g. Maven, IntelliJ)
* Postman/Insomnia, Curl/HTTPie
* Kafka or similar message frameworks (e.g. RabbitMQ, Spark)
* Command line environments (e.g. Unix, Mac)
* Kubernetes understanding/exposure
* NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, DocumentDB)
* CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Gitlab, Jenkins, Harness)
* TestRail test documentation software
* Jira, or other work ticketing systems

Nice to have:
* AWS exposure
* Docker understanding and exposure
* Logging & monitoring service exposure (e.g. Splunk, DataDog)
* Swagger exposure
* Automation framework familiarity (e.g. Robot, Oxygen, Karate)
* Python experience
