The Engineering Co-op for Mammotome work with cross-functional teams on all aspects of complex projects related to product design, development, and testing with a focus on applying engineering fundamentals in a professional environment.



This position is part of the Research & Development team located in Cincinnati, OH and will be Onsite at Mammotome, our passion is driving innovative technologies that create efficiencies, while never forgetting that at the heart of every breast cancer journey is a patient.



You will be a part of the Research & Development team and report to a Senior Engineer that is responsible for New Product Development, Sustaining, and Vave. If you thrive in a fast-paced medical design environment read on.




In this role, you will have the opportunity to:



  • Work closely with other members of the team and suppliers (e.g., component, assembly equipment) to develop products with a focus on customer needs as well as on manufacturability and assembly

  • With guidance from other team members, works with design and/or manufacturing engineering and suppliers to understand the considerations associated with manufacturability and works with other team members to produce prototypes and optimize designs for manufacturability.

  • Present 1:1 and in group settings Engineering results and status updates on for task related work.

  • Performs basic design and analysis (such as tolerance analysis, FEA, DOE's, simulated use testing, etc.), and supports development of product and process validation plans and testing.





The essential requirements of the job include:



  • Student working toward a bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical or Biomedical engineering (or related field equivalent) with mechanical emphasis required.

  • Minimum GPA 3.0 within curriculum is required.

  • Occasional overnight trip may be required.




It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:



  • Previous Co-op experience in an engineering function

  • Experience in medical device and/or product development

  • Skilled in Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks)

The hourly range for this role is $30.00. This is the rate that we in good faith believe is the rate of compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
