Job Summary: Responsible for the efficient planning and coordination of workflow (wave planning) to meet shipping expectations within the distribution center. Analyzes information and monitors workflow to make data-driven decisions and optimize resources.
Essential job duties include:
Reviews orders in queue and aggregates into batches based on order size and materials inventory (coolers, dry ice). Pairs this information with hub destination to create and release wave plans in computer system.
Monitors area capacity and releases waves so as not to exceed workflow capabilities.
Monitors recirculated totes and makes appropriate adjustments in computer to ensure timely processing of coolers.
Makes adjustments and resolves issues interfering with efficient workflow, including closure of pod lanes. Escalates issues when needed.
Regularly communicates with team members on the floor using two-way radio. Notifies production floor of workflow changes.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous wave planning/project management experience preferred but not required
Proficient computer skills (MS Office and AS400)
Ability to operate a two-way radio
Exceptional level of concentration coupled with ability to multi-task
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to make sound, independent decisions
Strong planning and organization skills
Effective communication skills
Schedule Requirements:
This is a Temporary position - 2 shifts available - 5:30am-5:30pm or 5:30pm - 5:30am
