PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Buyer / Planner will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the production schedule and material requirements to support customer demand and financial targets.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Issuance of commercial purchase orders as required to support the manufacturing schedule / forecast.
Facilities and directs development of production schedule.
Management of purchase order requirements to obtain optimum inventory levels to prevent stockouts and achieve working capital targets.
Collaborate with Customer Service, Operations and Project Management to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
Coordination with the Scheduling team on material status changes which impact the production plan.
Communication of critical material pricing and availability changes to Leadership Team.
Management of open orders and expedite as required to ensure production schedule attainability.
Collaboration with Inventory Control team on expired inventory and management of slow moving and obsolete inventory.
Management of supplier returns and credit issuance for out of specification or damaged materials/components.
Lead discussions with support departments to optimize production goals and communication customer requirement changes.
Establishes best business practices related to scheduling, planning and materials management.
Resource for customer calls or suppliers calls as needed.
Completion of other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling and procurement.
Ability to multi-task in fast paced CDMO environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, planning and scheduling techniques.
Advanced computer skills and literacy.
Experience with NetSuite ERP and Microsoft Office.
