Position Overview for the Mechanical Licensing Temp:
Licensing and Data Management: Provide publishing and mechanical splits to external partners via MDX/LCH and email, and review data to provide corrections on bulk licensing reports for accuracy.
Database Management: Assist with product setup and updates in the internal database (RECS), ensuring proper tracking and registration of songs with mechanical rights societies and digital service providers.
License Issuance and Documentation: Issue statutory mechanical licenses and request missing documentation for controlled rates to maintain compliance with industry standards.
Workflow Tracking and Communication: Maintain multiple workflow trackers in Monday.com, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth processing of mechanical licenses.
Required Skills for the Mechanical Licensing Temp:
Education: College degree preferred, with some background or coursework in music, business, or related fields.
Experience: Basic understanding of music publishing, including copyright and mechanical licensing. Previous experience in a similar administrative or licensing role is beneficial.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer systems, including database management and workflow tools like Monday.com. Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize heavy workloads, multi-task under pressure, and work independently or within a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Passion for music is a plus!
