The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and configuring Dataminer Systems, along with proficiency in various operating systems and virtualization technologies.
On a daily basis, you will oversee the operations of Dataminer Systems, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently. Your day will involve conducting routine server setup, configuration, and maintenance tasks in a primarily windows based system infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with streaming services, seasoned in mitigating risk for broadcast infrastructure. You will manage and optimize virtualization environments using VMware, ensuring efficient resource utilization. Writing and maintaining scripts in PowerShell and Python to automate tasks will be a part of your job. This is an on premise infrastructure, and globecast currently services about 50+ hardware servers.
Must Haves:
2 years of experience managing and configuring DataMiner to interface with on premise infrastructure
2+ years of streaming service experience as a systems administrator
Proficiency with Windows and Linux based systems - they are primarily a windows shop
Strong understanding of OS installation, configuration and troubleshooting
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (ex: VMware)
Familiarity with scripting languages (ex: python, powershell, etc) for automation tasks
Basic understanding of database systems (ex: SQL Server, MySQL, Cassandra) for effective use of dataminer extension
Familiarity with security best practices (e.g., patch management, intrusion detection, firewalls).

Knowledge of video encoding and streaming
AWS Practitioner certification
