Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of American Welding Society weld specifications, particularly in the aerospace and nuclear sectors, and will play a key role in driving process improvements, creating work instructions, and solving complex problems.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement process improvements in line with the Toyota Production System.
Ensure compliance with AWS weld specifications relevant to aerospace and defense (e.g., AWS D1.1, AWS D17.1).
Utilize knowledge of sheet metal and turret presses to enhance manufacturing processes.
Create and maintain detailed work instructions to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives, employing lean methodologies and tools.
Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving sessions to address process challenges.
Engage in Gemba walks to observe operations, identify issues, and propose actionable solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and enhance product quality.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field).
Proven experience in process engineering, preferably in aerospace or defense industries.
Strong knowledge of AWS weld specifications and testing requirements.
Familiarity with the Toyota Production System and lean manufacturing principles.
Experience with sheet metal fabrication and turret press operations.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
