Why We Need You

Our success as a school relies on every child having access to the education and resources they need to flourish. Without you, essential pieces of the special education process would fall through the cracks, potentially preventing students from getting the support they deserve. You will be the backbone of our Special Education team, ensuring seamless communication between teachers, administrators, and families. Your attention to detail and love for organization will mean that IEPs are implemented on time, parents stay informed, and compliance requirements are effortlessly managed. In short, your work will allow our teachers to focus on what matters most: transforming the lives of our students.

Here's What You'll Be Doing

You'll become the go-to resource for our Special Education team, making sure processes are smooth and efficient. Your work will touch every part of the special education experience, from helping teachers prepare materials to managing communications with families. Here's how you'll make an impact:
  • Maintain and organize Special Education files (both electronic and paper), ensuring timely access to essential information.
  • Manage scheduling, notifications, and document distribution for IEPs, 45-day screens, and related processes.
  • Support audit preparation and compliance monitoring with the Arizona Department of Education.
  • Coordinate vision and hearing screenings for all students and report results to the state.
  • Prepare and distribute IEPs to General Education guides, keeping them up-to-date throughout the year.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Special Education to facilitate parent communication and system management.
  • Assist Special Education teachers by preparing materials and organizing follow-up practice work for students.
  • Order and maintain essential supplies, ensuring classrooms and offices are fully equipped.
  • Occasionally support front office operations when needed, ensuring a warm, professional presence.

You Need These Qualifications
  • You have a solid understanding of the special education process, including IEP management and compliance.
  • You bring strong technology skills and are proficient with tools like Excel, Word, and Google Docs.
  • You're highly organized, with a knack for balancing multiple priorities.
  • You thrive in collaborative environments and can work with diverse personalities and temperaments.
  • You're detail-oriented and love creating systems that keep things running smoothly.

It Would Be Nice If
  • You've worked in an educational setting supporting students with special needs.
  • You enjoy finding ways to improve systems for efficiency and compliance.
  • You're comfortable managing communication with parents and teachers.
  • You've had experience organizing state assessments and audit preparation.

If this sounds like you, we'd love to meet you! Please email your resume to laura@keystonemontessori.com.
