Job Summary:

The Adventist Health Rideout Finance Officer assumes responsibility for the financial performance of the hospital and plays a primary role in enabling the facility to respond effectively to market requests. Oversees the development and implementation of strategies and programs that enhance and maximize the financial performance operations, consistent with the values, practices and strategic objectives of the organization. Optimizes financial position, cash flow and capital. Oversees all financial services and functions. Assumes responsibility for long- and short-term financial planning.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or other relevant field: Required
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration: Preferred
  • Ten years' experience in a hospital or health care financial function including at least 5 years in a management level position: Required

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA): Preferred

Essential Functions:
  • Partners with the CEO as it relates to responsibility for net operating income. Ensures stewardship, financial integrity and sustainability. Works in collaboration to create and implement the strategic goals of the hospital and One Adventist Health to achieve success in fulfilling the operating commitments.
  • Collaborates with the executive team to identify opportunities for greater efficiencies and reduced expenses throughout the business unit. Supports operations that seek to implement standards, policies, and procedures for financial planning and reporting that are consistent with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Leads the development of annual budgets and long-range forecasts consistent with market(s) and Adventist Health strategies and objectives. Develops and implements financial benchmarks, budgets, operating commitment goals, incentive goals, and reporting of key financial indicators to ensure accountability and on budget performance. Collaborates with system services departments of revenue cycle, real estate, managed care, finance, accounting, and other departments to optimize financial performance. Leads team-building, quality of work-life and staff development efforts within the finance functions.
  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of the financial report. Provides oversight for the review of journals, account reconciliations and new procedures to ensure financial information is captured accurately. Ensures finance team partners with facility leaders to ascertain the impact of decisions on finance and determine if any future changes need to be considered.
  • Participates in industry peer groups and corporate meetings to stay informed on new regulations and related issues.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Pay Range The estimated base pay for this position is $356,000 to $445,000. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through years of experience, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
