Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Director of Quality will develop and implement a comprehensive quality and patient safety program. The goal is to foster clinical excellence, promote innovation, and ensure patient safety by participating in clinical initiatives that promote evidence-based practices. The Director of Quality Management will provide leadership and direction for quality improvement, patient safety, hospital accreditation and certifications.

The Director of Quality Management is responsible for ensuring that the quality management and patient safety system are compliance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Conditions of Participation and with The Joint Commission Standards of Care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including The Joint Commission, CMS, and other related quality certification programs.

Oversee the budget for quality management activities, ensuring that resources are used effectively

Supervisor and support quality management staff, providing for development opportunities.

Work with other departments to ensure that quality improvement initiatives are integrated across the hospital.

Prepare and present reports and related analysis on quality performance to hospital leadership and regulatory bodies.

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of current clinical practice guidelines, professional nursing standards, CMS regulations, regulatory/accreditation requirements, state licensure laws, national clinical quality benchmarks and organization policies/procedures; and applies this knowledge and understanding to the evaluation of patient care delivery;
  • Ensure timely and accurate data collection for reporting purposes; Accesses hospital databases and reporting applications as needed for data reporting.
  • Acts as a change agent to develop new processes, enhance existing workflow, and train clinical and medical staff in new processes.

Quality Management: Lead and direct all quality management activities, including patient care, compliance with regulations, risk management, patient safety, and performance improvement.

Strategic Planning: Develop strategic plans and policies to improve quality throughout the hospital and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.

Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations, budgeting, financial management, and human resource management related to quality and patient safety.

Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, enhance value, and minimize patient harm.

Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with various stakeholders to coordinate quality and patient safety activities across the organization.

Foster a culture of continuous performance improvement and metrics driven outcomes.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or a related field, Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting
  • CPHQ required.
