The Embedded Project Cost Controller is a critical member of the project team who is responsible for establishing the total installed cost of the project. The Embedded Project Cost Controller is analytical, detail oriented, and strives for perfection. They apply various cost estimating and analysis techniques to achieve the desired outcomes and accuracy required for the project.
Execute project controls program to proactively support, monitor, and communicate budget, actual status, and forecast costs, labor hours, and quantities for large cap projects.
Develop accurate and timely project cost forecasts with the participation of lead staff and project management.
Analyze performance data to forecast labor hours based on performance (earned value).
Work with project management and project accounting to maintain an appropriate cash flow.
Create and issue status reports that effectively communicate cost status and trends. Define corrective actions for implementation.
Support local/on-site, job progression monitoring, working with CM, field engineers and scheduler.
Promote the use of change control procedures. With project team, follow through on the procedures to recover all costs not specifically defined by the contracts.
Qualifications
10+ years experience in cost monitoring and controls experience with engineering or construction projects.
BS Degree in engineering, construction management preferred
Experience working with SAP and MS Office Scheduling Software
Experience in cost analysis and/or controls for Large Cap projects
Extreme attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize work.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to adapt communication for various audiences.
