Position: Dental Front ReceptionistReports To: Office ManagerPosition Description: The Front Administrator will serve as the first point of contact for our patients. This means that having an upbeat positive attitude and professional demeanor are essential. Youll greet patients, take their phone calls, and communicate with them and staff to ensure patient needs are being met. You will also help our office operate more effectively. This will include completing tasks like scheduling and canceling patient appointments, communicating with insurance providers, refilling office supplies, and filing documents, among others.Responsibilities for Dental Front Receptionist:Welcome and greet patients who enter the office warmlyAssist patients in filling out required formsSchedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments as needed through phone and online appointment systems.Confirm upcoming appointments, recalls and fill any cancellations through patient outreachComplete insurance verification and obtain breakdown of insurance benefits for upcoming appointmentsCollect payment from patients and update patient ledgers in the systemTranslating dental services into proper billable codes.Complete and file insurance forms and dental billing recordsTrack and send patient balance statementMaintain office inventoryPerform office duties such as document filing, scanning, and copyingCommunicate with dental supply vendorsAssist in end of day office closing activitiesEnsure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards and requirements in all interactionsBe a Team Player and assist team members as neededPerform all duties with utmost honesty, integrity and humilityQualifications for Dental Front Receptionist:High school diploma or equivalentCertification in office administration or a related field is preferredSuperior customer service skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsOrganization, time management and multitasking abilities.An understanding of dental office procedures and workflow.Positive attitude and professional appearanceBasic computer literacyProficiency or ability to learn dental practice management software such as Dentrix or similarWorking knowledge of dental terminologyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines
