What You Will Do:

Provides engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements. Makes recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts. Performs risk assessments and analysis employing modeling and simulation techniques. Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation and maintenance. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses. Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline. Performs conventional structural design and analysis. Provides system integration within and across disciplines. Provides construction and project support. May provide direction to technicians. Able to work independently and as part of a team, utilizes engineering technology to accomplish work. Continuously improves work processes to meet customer needs. Duties will include preparation of calculations, drawings, data sheets, specifications, reports, reviews, studies and estimates (both material and engineering man-hour) working as an integral part of a project team. Typical drawings may include one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting/power plans, installation details, feeder/circuit sizing, and conduit/cable schedules. The Engineer will conduct drawing searches in engineering records, and will perform field investigation and walkdown work as required. Provide supervision, preferably in project design engineering; may include other relevant types of engineering including startup, field engineering or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants or engineering/construction firms.   • This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities.
  • This DOE Order establishes entry-level requirements to ensure employees in the positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.

What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 10+ years experience
  • Deep understanding and experience with Cameo is a plus, but not required.
