This position supports the financial management of the Providence Tourism Council in coordination with the Chair, administrative assistant, Director, Director/program manager and board of directors.
Responsibilities
Lead the overall financial management, accounts payable, receivables, vendor management, check distribution
Complete financial accounting, forecasting and budgeting
Manage financial needs for grant and event programs including, payment distribution, reporting and any applicable IRS requirements
Manage and record organizational database as needed
Ability to deliver and present monthly reports and metrics to leadership as needed and attend respective organizational meetings in Providence
Manage various project budgets and assignments as directed, including tasks associated with monthly/yearly financial reporting, P/L, annual financial audits, monthly board reports, forecasts, and annual tax/statutory filings
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or related field 5+ years of relevant experience
Proficiency in financial software and tools
Fluency in Quick books, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Detail-oriented and analytical
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
CPA or CFA certification is a plus
Ideal candidate has appreciation, knowledge and pride for the City of Providence and understanding of the Providence Tourism Council's mission, vision, and values
Although a remote contract position, the candidate should reside in the greater Providence area and must live in Rhode Island.
