Project Scheduling Engineer

GC-Squared Resources, LLC Greater Houston (On-site)

The primary focus of this position is to provide scheduling support through the development, maintenance, and implementation of the Project Controls System (PCS) as a member of the Projects Group. The Project Scheduling Engineer must be able to work well within a multi-disciplinary team and be able to prioritize and multi-task while supporting multiple interfaces.

This position will report directly to the Project Performance Manager on projects and team Performances & Progresses.

The Project Scheduling Engineer must possess effective leadership skills in order to monitor and control the agreed performance objectives. The Project Scheduling Engineer should provide leadership and guidance to the Project Controls Team (PCT), where appropriate, as well as apply skills and good judgement, based on previous experiences, to guide projects to success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical Project Scheduling Engineer responsibilities include:
• The Projects Scheduling Engineer is expected to possess extensive Primavera P6 (also referred to as "P6") and Microsoft Project (also referred to as MS project) skills, while focusing on constantly improving them and come up with innovative solutions to support the projects' needs.
• Projects Scheduling Engineer is a skilled role that involves creating and managing complex schedules using P6 or MS Project. Engineering experience is required to understand the links & predecessors amongst the activities and the various disciplines.
• Works alongside the Projects Team and the Projects Managers and seeks input from the resources on the team to establish and maintain schedules.
• Responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating resource-loaded schedules that meet clients' requirements while considering the resources availability.
• The Projects Scheduling Engineer performs critical path analysis, prepares reports, and develops links amongst the numerous activities of the projects' schedules, using discretion and judgement.
• Expected to identify project changes, trends, risks, and opportunities when supporting the Project Team with clients, for internal and/or external interfaces.
• Facilitate the functions of estimating and scheduling as they relate to progress and completion of the assigned work scope.
• To be an active member in quality control measures implemented and maintained, in the schedules, throughout the life of the work scopes.
• Support the contractual responsibilities and post-award activities as part of a Projects Team.
• Reporting project performance and status to the Project Performance Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
• B.S. or higher in Engineering, or equivalent relevant field will be considered on a case by case basis.
• 2 or more years work experience preferably in the Oil & Gas industry with a floating production unit contractor or drilling contractor, marine contractor/engineer, or consulting engineer.
• Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and related software packages.
• Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.
• Fluent in written and verbal English; other languages are an asset but not a requirement.
• Valid driver's license and passport.
