As a Data Architect, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders and development teams to define project scope and vision while gathering and prioritizing requirements. You will be responsible for designing and implementing data architectures aligned with the organization's business goals. Leveraging your expertise with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, and other Azure data services, you will manage dedicated SQL pools, design and manage databases, and develop efficient ETL processes. Additionally, you will ensure data governance, security, and compliance, while continuously researching and implementing new technology solutions to support the organization's data strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with stakeholders and the development team to determine project scope, vision, and requirements.
Design and Implement Data Architectures: Develop data architectures that align with business objectives, leveraging Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, and other Azure data services.
Manage Dedicated SQL Pools: Optimize and manage dedicated SQL pools in Synapse to handle large-scale data warehousing and analytics workloads.
Database Design and Management: Design, implement, and manage Azure SQL and Azure Managed Instance databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
ETL Process Management: Develop and manage ETL processes using Synapse Pipelines to ensure smooth data integration from various sources to the data warehouse.
Data Governance and Cataloging: Implement data governance practices and manage data catalogs to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
Build and Maintain Data Models: Design and maintain scalable and optimized data models that accurately represent the organization's data landscape.
Ensure Data Security and Compliance: Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
Documentation: Maintain procedures manuals and system documentation.
Research and Analysis: Stay up to date with technology trends and research software solutions to provide recommendations that enhance the organization's data architecture.
Required Experience:
4+ years of experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Dedicated SQL Pools, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Managed Instance.
5+ years of experience with DDL, DML T-SQL, advanced stored procedures, tables, primary/foreign keys, constraints, indexes, transactions, and error handling.
4+ years of experience in data architecture design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
3+ years of experience with data governance principles and compliance requirements for data security and privacy.
3+ years of experience integrating data from various sources and managing large-scale data pipelines.
2+ years of experience with cloud computing concepts, specifically in Microsoft Azure.
1+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python or Scala.
1+ years of experience with Salesforce, Message MQ, and MuleSoft.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex data challenges.
Proven ability to design and implement scalable, efficient, and robust data architectures.
Strong customer service orientation with meticulous attention to detail and quality of work.
