Job Description:

As a Mechanical Engineer in Peoria, IL, you will play a vital role in the design, development, and improvement of our world-class machinery and equipment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency across our product lines.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for construction and mining equipment, engines, and other machinery.
  • Conduct engineering analyses, including finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and tolerance stack-up analysis to validate designs and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to ensure successful implementation of designs into production.
  • Utilize CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks) to create detailed design drawings and documentation.
  • Evaluate and select materials, manufacturing processes, and suppliers to meet performance, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Support prototype builds and testing activities, analyze test data, and recommend design improvements.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reliability.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in the heavy equipment or automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-motivated with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, or other quality methodologies is a plus.
