Sparks Group has partnered with a global association based in Washington, DC to find a Publication Production Specialist. This will be a hybrid opportunity requiring you to be in the office at least 2 days per week. As a Publication Production Specialist, you will provide editorial input and fulfill substantial parts of the production processes relevant to the publication of numerous journals.
Publication Production Specialist Responsibilities:
To coordinate editorial production for five (5) journals, including administrative management of the electronic manuscript submission system.
Use journal reporting tools to create and analyze reports.
Administrative management of Journal's electronic submission system Editorial Manager.
Manages social media for all journals composing posts promoting manuscripts on LinkedIn and Twitter.
Creates data as desired by editorial boards of our journals.
Proofread publications/material.
Manage correspondence between copyeditors and publisher.
Manage author correspondence at galley and proof stages.
Prepare issue makeup.
Work with Director of Publications and other leadership to define publications department priorities.
Publication Production Specialist Requirements:
BS/BA degree is required.
2+ years of proofreading experience, including copy preparation.
Experience with Editorial Manager a must.
Excellent reading and accuracy skills.
Familiarity with medical terminology and proofreader marks.
Intermediate level of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
Excellent interpersonal skills in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring deadlines are met.
Familiarity with electronic publishing technologies.
Above average knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
