How would you like to work in the beautiful resort town of Ocean City, Maryland? The successful candidate will join the Town's Human Resources Team, working out of City Hall just steps from the beach and historic Boardwalk.
Responsibilities include the opportunity to re-imagine the Town's recruitment strategy for both full-time and seasonal employees, with an emphasis on attracting a highly talented, qualified, and diverse workforce.
The incumbent will develop and implement a variety of initiatives to expand the Town's reach in an effort to market the amazing benefits of working for Ocean City to the largest population possible. This will include the identification of new and non-traditional recruitment techniques. Additionally, this individual is the internal expert for the Town's online applicant portal, to include the training of hiring managers on system use and recruitment best practices. This individual will also develop and deliver training on a variety of recruitment and diversity related topics. This is an exciting position for a talented and experienced recruiter to make their mark by providing guidance to Town leaders regarding best practices in the areas of diversity, equity & inclusion. Participation in many HR driven initiatives is a part of this position and includes serving on committees, planning special events, contributing to the Employee Newsletter, and much more.
Expectations also include the performance of administrative tasks associated with writing and posting ads, screening candidates, creating offer letters, conducting reference checks, and on-boarding new hires.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Business, HR Management, Psychology or a related field. Professional certification in the area of human resources (i.e. SHRM-CP/SCP, S/PHR, Div. & Incl.) is strongly preferred along with at least 5 years of experience.
Strong proficiency with all Microsoft office products and the ability work comfortably in other HR related software packages.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
