Job Overview: We are seeking a Product Owner to drive value through building, managing, and maintaining the product backlog in collaboration with IT teams. The Product Owner will represent the business, defining the purpose, value, and scope for the product offering. You will play a key role in shaping product direction, writing user stories, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the product meets business and market needs. Familiarity with AI concepts, machine learning models, and data analysis is crucial for communicating effectively with technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Roadmap & Strategy: Develop and align the product roadmap with strategic goals by engaging with customers and stakeholders to analyze and document business and technology needs.
Backlog Management: Define and maintain the product backlog, breaking epics into features, user stories, and setting clear acceptance criteria.
Business Decision Support: Draft key objectives, strategies, and ensure that data optimization supports product success.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product management and senior leadership to adapt the product within the company portfolio. Manage communication with clients, users, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and adoption of the product.
Value Proposition: Articulate and communicate the product's value proposition to clients and internal/external partners.
Agile Methodology: Advocate for Agile methods and help broaden the team's understanding of new technologies and trends. Work closely with Agile development teams to ensure proper product development.
Market Research & Innovation: Conduct product research and analysis to stay updated on market trends, user preferences, and competitive products.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, 4 additional years of relevant work experience are required.
Experience: 4 years in business analysis, business development, system analysis, or technical design/development implementation. OR 2 years as a Product Owner.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of AI concepts, machine learning models, and data analysis to effectively communicate with technical teams. Knowledge of data sourcing, curation, and compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements for AI.
Agile Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies and ability to define and build a product roadmap.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to manage stakeholder expectations, negotiate, and solve a variety of business and technical problems.
Industry Experience: Previous healthcare experience is a plus.
Advanced Degree: An advanced degree is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Proficient in Agile methodologies and procedures.
Ability to build and define a product roadmap.
Strong stakeholder negotiation and management skills.
Proven problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, especially under challenging circumstances.
Additional Information:
Equipment Requirement: Contractors must provide their own equipment (e.g., laptop, monitor). Access to a virtual desktop setup will be provided by Lumen's client for system access.
Work Environment: Fast-paced with frequently changing priorities and workloads. Must meet deadlines and handle multiple customer demands.
