Position Overview: As the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing processes to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and innovation. You will lead a team of engineers and work closely with cross-functional departments to drive manufacturing excellence and support the company's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Process Optimization:
Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes and systems to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
Identify and implement best practices, lean manufacturing principles, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Project Management:
Manage and coordinate engineering projects related to new product introductions, process improvements, and facility upgrades.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all quality and safety standards.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with product development, quality assurance, supply chain, and other departments to align manufacturing processes with product requirements and business objectives.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to report on project progress, resolve issues, and drive cross-functional initiatives.
Innovation & Technology:
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in manufacturing engineering.
Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities and competitiveness.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to manufacturing processes and workplace safety.
Promote a culture of safety and ensure that all manufacturing activities adhere to safety guidelines and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role within the automotive industry.
Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and managing complex manufacturing projects.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and technologies, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in project management and engineering software tools.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, or similar are highly desirable.
