A specialized investment management firm is seeking an Origination Professional to join its team. The firm focuses on lending to critical technology sectors that will span a variety of industries: microelectronics, biotechnology, advanced computing, clean energy, AI, cybersecurity, and energy infrastructure, etc.
Role Responsibilities:
The Origination Professional will be responsible for sourcing and originating debt investment opportunities across companies that are poised for transformation through growth, product launches,acquisitions, and other initiatives This individual will identify, structure, and support the execution of direct investments, collaborating with the firm's senior team and partners.
Key responsibilities include:
Evaluating and making recommendations on potential investments
Analyzing complex investment opportunities
Developing and modifying financial models
Enhancing portfolio monitoring and deal origination efforts
Supporting business development through regular travel to key locations, including NYC and Washington, D.C.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of deal origination experience, ideally at an investment firm with a focus on sectors like defense, aerospace, or cybersecurity.
Industry knowledge: Strong understanding of key technology sectors, including AI, defense systems, and advanced computing, with a solid network of industry contacts.
Analytical skills: Expertise in financial modeling and technical analysis with the ability to evaluate complex investment opportunities.
Entrepreneurial mindset: Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and proactively identify new opportunities.
Collaborative approach: Strong interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Travel flexibility: Willingness to travel regularly between key locations as needed for business development and deal execution.
