Job Description:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer works directly with outsourced manufacturing facilities supporting our Dispensing Dynamics products. They are responsible for identification and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and projects focused on minimizing product cost, improving product quality, and maintaining product availability for assigned product lines. Manage projects across multiple departments that are aligned with department strategic objectives.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:
  • Product Line Management: Responsible for the judicious resolution of manufacturing issues, for assigned product lines, that effect product quality or availability. Performs and coordinates required process and sustaining engineering support necessary to contain and correct manufacturing production problems that impact ability to produce at desired build plan and required operational efficiencies. Creates and maintains all manufacturing related documentation, as well as production reports that define key metrics and outline current activities.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Uses LEAN manufacturing practices and Six Sigma methodology to evaluate and improve assembly line performance per established key performance indicators. Takes on leadership responsibility to implement improvement projects by evaluating project change justification and ensures the project is on schedule and within budget.
  • New Product Development Introduction into Manufacturing: Provides manufacturing engineering support for complete integration of new products into full production per Hunter's NPDI process. Provides focus on delivering a repeatable process with high quality yield. Supports the concurrent engineering effort on behalf of manufacturing as a member of the product development team.
  • Capital Budget Planning: Maintain updated capacity models for both injection molds and assembly equipment for assigned product lines. Submit capital requests as required to ensure timely completion of equipment to meet forecasted production. Provide capital requirements for annual budgeting process.
  • Leads or supports cost reduction projects including qualification of new vendors for materials or parts. Participates in test plan development and execution.
  • Other critical projects/assignments as required.
  • Serves as a department representative on various company committees.
  • Resource development, to include satellite manufacturing facilities, and vendors.

Education/Training Required:
  • BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering required.

Experience Required:
  • Minimum of five years progressive experience in an engineering position of a manufacturing organization.

What You Bring:
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes the knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing & Six-Sigma methodology techniques and how it can be applied in the manufacturing environment.
  • Speak and write effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language, with good report writing and presentation skills.
  • Have excellent computer knowledge which includes the knowledge of several Microsoft Office programs.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work within timelines.
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA, able to travel outside of the USA, and work flexible hours to visit supplier facilities worldwide.
  • Experience with assembly of electronics and injection molded plastic components preferred.
  • Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, DOE and process capability studies preferred.

The salary for this opportunity ranges from $89,015 to $115,550

The Company complies with all federal/local/state regulations in regard to pay. The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Compensation offered to the successful candidate will be determined by qualifications, prior experience, other job-related factors, and geographic location.
