Job Summary:

The Trainer/Educator III will be responsible for supporting all division wide training and workforce development initiatives.

This position focus is to continue the development and facilitate training focused on contract, request for proposal (RFP) and grant writing.

To accomplish the training objective, the candidate will need to gain the knowledge to become a subject matter expert (SME) for the Division of Public Health Bureau of Contract and Grants.

This trainer will collaborate with fiscal support services to identify division training needs in these areas and develop online, virtual, and in person curricula to meet these identified needs.

They will support the foundational capabilities of organizational competencies, policy development and support, and performance management throughout the division of public health through fostering clearer understanding of existing processes, which will streamline these processes by reducing duplication of efforts.

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Assist DPH In-House Training Scheduling Activities
  • Assist in developing/updating Workforce Development Plan
  • Classroom Training Development/Facilitation Activities
  • Virtual Training Development/Facilitation Activities
  • eLearning Training Development Activities
  • Attend Quarterly Meetings w/DPH Trainers
  • Assist with OPM DE-TRAIN Activities
  • Assist with Developing/Facilitating DPH On-Boarding Training Activities
  • Assist in Survey Monkey Management
  • Develop needs assessments as needed for training planning

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Knowledge of methods, principles and techniques in development and implementation of education and training programs.
  • Knowledge of training resources and materials.
  • Knowledge of applicable state, federal and departmental laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and processes pertaining to agency and program area.
  • Knowledge of adult education/training.
  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques of conducting needs assessment.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
  • Knowledge of program evaluation techniques and monitoring devices.
  • Knowledge of the methods, principles and techniques used to improve individual and group performance.
  • Skill in the collection, analysis, evaluation, and presentation of data from a variety of sources.
  • Skill in communicating effectively.
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems/needs/issues and assess the impacts.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people.
