This position is to perform skilled repair work in an automotive an equipment facility. The employee will be responsible for the skilled repair and preventative maintenance work on a wide variety of automotive and construction equipment. Must exercise independent judgement in carrying our assignments.
Repairs, overhauls and maintains gasoline or diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, drive trains, brake systems, steering systems, and other major components of a wide variety automotive, construction and related equipment by grinding valves, installing piston rings, replacing worn bearings, installing clutch plates, etc, uses a wide variety of chain hoists, motor stands, battery charger, hand tools, wheel balances, welding units, and other equipment. Performs road service calls for equipment broken in the field. Repairs and maintains hydraulic systems. May fabricate repair parts as necessary. Tunes engines. Maintains and repairs shop tools and equipment. Maintains work area. Completes garage report forms and parts list. Performs related work as required.
Mechanic must provide complete set of tools for use on the job. Must have a valid State of Ohio Commercial Drivers License.
