Job Description:

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Start Up ManagementPlans, develops, presents and manages roll-out of all operational activities related to the start-up and daily operations of the St. Bernard, Ohio facility, including staffing, SOPs, maintenance management (CMMS), EHS policies and procedures, KPI reporting, communication with the company and its JV partner, customers and the community. Plant commissioning will be led by the JV partner with operational support and close coordination with the Plant Manager and his/her team. Plant ManagementDevelop organizational capacity by clearly defining roles and responsibilities, providing feedback, coaching and development for all staff.Creates an operating cadence (rhythm) that utilizes appropriate tools and incorporates clear communication and accountability for business results.Delivers expected results through effective project execution, by ensuring appropriate personnel and equipment resources are available for efficient performance.Develops and manages Operations budget of facility to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements, as well as the operational and financial performance of the site. Safety and ComplianceEnsures that the plant is operated safely and in compliance with all permits.Ensures the site is in full regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.Ensures adherence to operations standards and best practices for safety, environmental compliance and operational efficiencies.Implements process improvements for efficiencies, utility consumption, safety and environmental compliance.Expected to exhibit and demonstrate safe behaviors at all times and to perform job in a safe manner. Strategic Leadership & ReportProvides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements.Develops site strategies that are aligned with company and business strategies.Develops and maintains a capital improvement plan for the facility.Develops, maintains and reports out daily spreadsheets and operating reports relating to feedstock intake flow and outgoing product, as well as compliance monitoring and documentation.Promotes a culture of respect consistent with company values with focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement across all functional areas.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree required (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering ideal, or related degree).10+ years of proven, hands-on Plant /Operations management experience in an industrial process manufacturing environment; managing operations involving anaerobic digestion, wastewater treatment, residuals recycling, waste-to-energy or related technologies a plus.Must have experience with new plant construction, commissioning and start-up. Record of success in managing all major aspects of plant operations, including P&L management, hiring, scheduling, reporting, vendor management, feedstock management, supply chain and logistics, etc.Strong inclination toward Operational Excellence and continuous improvement, with experience in Lean manufacturing principals.Exceptional time management and organizational skills required.Expert knowledge of OSHA and state/federal safety rules and regulations preferred.Experience with operating and troubleshooting a wide range of process equipment (i.e. belt filter presses, centrifuges, pumps, conveyance systems, mixers, loaders, spreaders, etc.) Proven history of demonstrating a true safety and compliance mindset, enforcing 100% safety and compliance standards.Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a small plant environment.Strong action orientation and confidence in motivating teams, adhering to personal ethics, and driven by professional excellence.Must possess solid written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel including plant operators, executive management, customers, local authorities and community organizations, and regulatory agencies.Solid computer skills and experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
