Job Description:

As the Millwork Estimator, you will collaborate with the shop operations team on intricate cabinet and millwork projects. Your role will be crucial in developing accurate estimates, ensuring profitability, and aligning project specifications with strategic business objectives. This position demands attention to detail, a strong understanding of construction and millwork, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimating: Develop comprehensive project estimates, including labor, materials, and overhead, ensuring alignment with project goals and profitability.
  • Material and Cost Analysis: Identify and specify materials and hardware based on project requirements, maintaining cost-effectiveness and meeting technical standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the design, production, and client teams to ensure estimates align with project scope and technical specifications.
  • Request for Information (RFI) Management: Manage the RFI process to clarify project requirements and resolve ambiguities.
  • Preconstruction: Partner with domestic and overseas preconstruction teams to conduct quantity take-offs and ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Bid Review: Lead management review meetings before bid submissions to ensure all aspects of the estimate are accurate and aligned with business objectives.
  • Project Handover: Facilitate handover meetings with the production team to ensure smooth transitions from estimation to execution.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in construction estimating, with a focus on millwork, cabinetry, and custom fabrication.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Building Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Office Suite, Bluebeam; familiarity with estimating tools such as PlanSwift is advantageous.
  • Plan Reading: Ability to interpret commercial construction plans, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for collaboration across departments and with international teams.
  • Financial Understanding: A background in accounting, finance, or economics is a plus.
