Job Description:

Job Summary:

Responsible for the design, development and integration of complex military combat vehicle electronic (vetronics) and power harnesses systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Harness requirements analysis, derivation, decomposition and management activities
  • Research and analyze solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Perform trade studies to compare alternative approaches
  • Create and maintain electrical power performance
  • Create and maintain electrical signal performance
  • Develop vehicle electrical (signal, network and video) and power distribution connectivity concepts
  • Develop harness specifications, drawings, schematics and ICDs
  • Understand/create/review harness test requirements and plans
  • Support/Monitor Component procurement and prototype development/build/integration/test activities and analyze results
  • Support system-integration-lab (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) activities
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform corrective actions
  • Support/Monitor Vehicle test and analyze results
  • Interact with internal/external customers and suppliers
  • Understand/create/Manage harness development/build schedules
  • Maintain harness open issues lists and prepare/present status
  • Support multidiscipline concurrent vehicle engineering activities

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Electrical/Harness design CAD - Zuken E3 experience is preferred
  • Harness design and related US DoD/military and commercial Standards
  • US DoD ground vehicle requirements, US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development and acquisition
  • Understanding of digital, analog, low/high-voltage/power, network and RF (radios, GPS, ...) signal and shielding requirements for harness
  • Mechatronics and electrical vehicle engineering and integration principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to work effectively with the US and overseas management, staff, teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and explain complex technical concepts and instructions in a variety of settings in a way that makes sense to someone less knowledgeable about the topic
  • Superior consultation, diplomacy, influencing and negotiating skills is required
  • Must be tactful, diplomatic, and work with integrity, honesty, and respect for others
  • Must display exceptional listening and analytical skills in order to understand customer concerns and needs with the ability to respond promptly and effectively to those needs
  • Will clarify and define the goals and strategies of the organization and successfully communicate this to all
  • High level of self-motivation and standards with the ability to multi-task; balancing "analysis" with "doing"
  • Must be adaptable and able to prioritize and work on own initiative and under pressure to meet deadlines

Experience Qualifications:
  • BSc Engineering desired (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Management) or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of harness development experience
  • Experience in US Defense vehicle programs and Military Standards and regulations
  • Applied working knowledge in the domain of electrical harness engineering design and integration, with a proven track record of harness development throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Experience with standard bus physical interfaces (CANBus, Ethernet, Serial communications)
  • Hands on experience with harness test equipment such as multi-meters, high-pot, harness analyzers - TDRs and spectrum analyzers experience preferred
  • Experience with contract negotiations and delivery planning
  • Practical 'hands on' attitude with the ability to operate independently
  • Experience of working in a multi-discipline, multi-national, multi-organizational and corporate environment
  • Experience with engineering and supply chain management in a highly regulated industry

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to speak German desired
