The Executive Assistant for the Center for Recruitment & Public Service (commonly known as the Governor's Appointments Office) will carry out duties related to the appointment and/or nomination of candidates to all boards, councils, and commissions. This role requires the Executive Assistant to interact with entities at the Local, State, and National levels and requires a high degree of communication skills, confidentiality, and ability to learn and conduct complex interactions between executive-level entities with a high degree of external visibility.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Act as a point of contact for matters related to Governor appointed boards, commissions, and councils
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records regarding the status of membership on boards, commissions, and councils
Interact with candidates under consideration for appointment
Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive materials
Communicate with relevant stakeholders on the status of appointments, nominations, and confirmations
Prepare official correspondence regarding actions taken regarding boards, commissions, and councils
Work on special assignments as directed
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience
Required Skills:
Excellent organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Familiarity with standard office platforms and database management, such as Microsoft Office, SmartSheet, etc.
Ability to work with others in a small, team-oriented work environment
Availability to work occasional long hours (and possibly some weekends)
Flexibility to travel between Albany and NYC on occasion
