Job Summary:

SWX Construction is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent with a proven track record in the food processing industry and process piping. This role involves overseeing large-scale projects, managing a team of over eight workers onsite, and ensuring project success through effective coordination, safety, and quality assurance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Attend preconstruction meetings with project management to kick off jobs.
  • Supervise large projects, overseeing a team of eight or more onsite.
  • Coordinate with project management on all material orders and jobsite requirements.
  • Ensure jobsite safety, quality assurance, and project progress.
  • Perform daily logs on Procore, including photos if possible.
  • Meet with onsite customer representatives to discuss job progress and milestones.
  • Manage RFIs (Requests for Information) in coordination with project management.
  • Ensure all onsite personnel understand their scope of work each day.
  • Address field questions and provide answers to onsite staff.
  • Coordinate material, manpower, and rental equipment needs with project management.
  • Report directly to project management on job milestones and progress.
  • Monitor and maintain the condition and safety of company tools and assets onsite.
  • Stay proactive to prevent loss in production and address any issues promptly.
  • Track training of all onsite employees and communicate with the Department Manager as needed.
  • Review employee timesheets weekly to ensure accuracy.

Education & Skill Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in the food processing industry.
  • Extensive experience in pipe fitting and managing large crews.
  • Proven background in the mechanical department within the process piping industry.
  • Willingness to travel (percentage to be discussed).

Physical Demands:
  • Climb and maintain balance.
  • Fully utilize hands and arms; stand, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch for extended periods.
  • Have good vision (naturally or corrected).
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk continuously.
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in hot or cold conditions, outdoors, and at high elevations.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
