The Department of Engineering Technology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#105100) in Mechatronics Engineering and Robotics to support our ABET EAC accredited Mechatronics Engineering program at the rank of assistant or associate professor. For appointment at the rank of associate professor, an established record of outstanding research and external funding, demonstrated teaching excellence, and leadership in service are required. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.
Teaching: Develop and teach a wide range of undergraduate mechatronics courses (both lecture and laboratory), including Robotics, Automation, Machine Design Elements, and basic Mechanical Engineering courses such as Dynamics and Kinematics. Additionally, develop and teach graduate courses in the candidate's area of research.
Research: Pursue scholarly activities, including the development of an externally funded research program and publishing peer-reviewed journal articles.
Supervision: Supervise graduate and undergraduate research and capstone design projects.
Industry Engagement: Engage with local industry through outreach events, on-campus career fairs, professional meetings, etc.
Program Assessment: Assist in program assessments and the execution of the department's continuous improvement plan.
Service: Provide service to the department, college, university, engineering societies, and the public.
