Today, we are currently hiring for a Marine and Specialty Vehicle Market Specialist  to add to our Corporate Sales team. This role is a key member of the team that is responsible for the development and profitable growth of new business within an assigned industry segment by utilizing extensive industry, application and product knowledge. This position will focus on key markets and be responsible for building our knowledge, presence and market position.

This position is open to anyone in the West region of the US as this role covers a large demographic area.

In this position, you will be required to:


  • Develop and execute a Territory Sales Plan within the framework of the PPI Sales System utilizing the Specialist Playbook.

  • Learn and continuously develop understanding of features, benefits and applications of our products sufficient to present and sell them effectively. This may include PPI furnished training, supplier training or other outside training. 

  • Travel in territory using a Geographic Territory Plan developed as part of the Specialist Playbook.

  • Visit Marine and Specialty Vehicle Group Maintenance Accounts as directed by Sales Plan in order to gather information, determines customer needs, monitors competition, and maintains and maximizes customer relationship.

  • Identify and engage key decision makers and influencers for the purpose of keeping and increasing business at these accounts.

  • Develop and maintain a high level of proficiency with CRM and all essential operating functions of computer.

  • Write/enter call reports upon completion of all appointments.  

  • Work with Market Manager to establish Sales and Margin goals every year and establishes or adjusts Sales Plan according to these goals along with working to meet or exceed Sales and Margin Goals every year.

To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will have:


  • At least 2 years of outside sales experience in plastics, industrial distribution or industry-related sales experience with a track record of exceeding assigned sales goals

  • A minimum of two year's related work experience

  • A personal vehicle in good condition

  • Basic computer skills

  • A willingness and desire to travel almost exclusively and the schedule to allow overnight travel as well

  • A positive attitude and are a team player!
