This career step requires expert level experience. This position will analyze large data sets, identify key correlating factors, explain trends, and predict future outcomes of key business drivers. In this role you will perform analyses on customer attributes and behaviors, retail store performance, pricing effects, sales forecasting, and other key financial metrics as required, and utilize key business analytics competencies including defining an analytical problem from qualitative business requirements, identifying and wrangling appropriate data from various distributed sources, building and optimizing queries to construct analytical datasets, exploring practical limitations of data, and mining for insights.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Interact with data across various sources including relational databases in SQL Server, Alteryx, and cloud-based distributed databases using Databricks and Snowflake, AWS and Azure, as well as various unstructured data; and use sandbox environments to create curated datasets from these sources.

Analyze large and small datasets using hypothesis testing (ANOVA, T-test, linear and logistic regression, etc.) and demonstrating knowledge of good experimental design; perform time-series analysis and forecasting; use machine learning and predictive analytics methods including classification and regression models such as multivariate regression, decision trees and random forests, GLM, SVM, kNN, and neural networks, and ensemble methods; use data access and analysis tools such as SQL, R, Python, PowerBI, Tableau, SAS, VBA, SPSS, and Excel, and be familiar with analysis packages such as NumPy, Pandas, SciKitLearn, Matplotlib, and SQLite. Design, maintain, and update interactive online dashboards and demonstrate best practices in data visualization and communication.

Deploy automated analyses and/or predictive models and have a deep understanding of process automation.

Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.

Education: Preferred Master's degree from an accredited University in a Quantitative field of study such as Data Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering or Physics.

Experience: Typically requires 8-10 years' experience.

Supervisory: No.

Our Principal Advanced Analytics earn between $128,400 - $192,600 of TSR. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
