Centurion is immediately hiring an Intermediate Network Administrator/Desktop Support Engineer to serve a multi-year Federal program in Gaithersburg, MD.
Responsibilities:
Provide routine maintenance support of the existing network infrastructure for a federal agency
Support all facets of the network operations and maintenance including design, documentation, implementation, testing and enhancements. Network devices implemented include, but are not limited to, bridges, routers, multiplexers, CSU/DSU's, modems, TLS links, Ethernet switches as well as end node devices such as NIC cards and transceivers and DS3 lines as necessary.
Manage and maintain federal agency domain user accounts and privileges in accordance with federal agency policy. This shall include recording and administering the addition of new users, updating the rights of existing users and deleting old users as required by the federal agency. This shall also include creating and maintaining standard user profiles for adding new users and guest users, and creating and maintaining groups (profile of the group, members of the group) and profiles of the privileges those groups have.
Make connections, establish routing protocols, issue addresses and work with other network managers as appropriate to establish links for federal agency users to any equipment they may need to access, including installation and configuration of workstations, peripherals, operating system and associated software including printers and printing services.
Maintain information necessary for the continued and efficient operation of the federal agency LAN. As part of this, the Contractor shall maintain a log of IP addresses that shows the servers, PC's, routers, and other networked devices to which they have been assigned.
Monitor and maintain the federal agency servers, disk space and use of memory; and making adjustments as necessary to ensure the efficient and secure operation of all servers.
Install upgrades to the network services COTS software as new releases are issued and approved by the COR. In addition, install and configure new LAN services software as required by the federal agency.
Attend the IT group meetings to assist with assessing the impact of new/on-going initiatives on the federal agency infrastructure and EAS applications.
Collect data in response to data calls.
Shift runs normal business hours Monday - Friday ONSITE in Gaithersburg, MD
Experience: A minimum of five years in supporting a similar environment. Bachelor's degree preferred.
