Senior Mass Spectrometry Specialist

Park City, UT / Onsite

Our client manufacturers a specialty fuel that presents unique challenges to analyzation. They have slated building 10 plants in the U.S. and Europe over the next ten years. The first plant is being placed into service in Q1 2025. The technology and its resulting fuel are tested at an R&D Facility in Utah.

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Mass Spectrometry Specialist with experience in both operating and applying mass spectrometry technology to various applications. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the equipment and its use in analyzing samples, as well as the ability to troubleshoot, adjust, and optimize the mass spectrometer for specific research or operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operation and Maintenance:
  • Operate the mass spectrometer, ensuring accurate and reliable data output.
  • Regularly calibrate and maintain the equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot any operational issues and perform necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Application and Data Analysis:
  • Understand the specific applications of mass spectrometry, applying knowledge to tailor the equipment settings and methodologies for various types of samples and analyses.
  • Interpret results and work closely with research or production teams to apply findings effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Read, comprehend, and apply information from technical manuals to ensure equipment is used correctly and efficiently.
  • Adjust and optimize the mass spectrometer based on the manual's specifications and the specific needs of ongoing projects.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience operating mass spectrometry equipment (e.g., LC-MS, GC-MS).
  • Strong understanding of the theoretical and practical applications of mass spectrometry in [specific industry].
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and perform advanced troubleshooting and adjustments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Requisite Educational Background:

1. Chemistry.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or similar degree.

2. Biochemistry or Molecular Biology.
  • Biochemistry or Molecular Biology.

Additional Training:
