Job Description:

The Director of Marketing and Membership will lead efforts to grow and retain KPhA's membership, enhancing member engagement through direct outreach, events, and strategic marketing initiatives. This role will focus on promoting the association's value, driving membership growth, and coordinating key association events. Under the Executive Director's guidance, the Director will contribute to implementing the association's strategic plan, working closely with committees and the Board of Directors.

The ideal candidate must have an outgoing personality, a hunger for information, relish developing robust relationships and have an uncanny ability to make people, particularly pharmacy professionals, open up to them. A good sense of humor also helps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to grow membership and enhance member experience.
  • Coordinate and promote association events, including the Annual Meeting and Legislative Conference, to maximize participation and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Manage KPhA's digital presence, including the website and social media platforms, to engage members and drive visibility.
  • Facilitate member outreach initiatives, including visits and networking events, to increase engagement.
  • Assist with promotional activities and marketing collateral development, such as brochures and sponsorship packages.
  • Curate relevant materials, edit, and coordinate the Association's quarterly publication The Kentucky Pharmacist, as well as a weekly eNewsletter and other communications to update members on pharmacy issues.
  • Support committee goals related to membership and marketing.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Association's professional award program which includes promoting award nominations, procuring the awards, and publicizing the recipients.
  • Coordinate nomination process for candidates for the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.
  • Coordinate election process for KPhA Board of Directors and Officers.
  • Perform other administrative assistance and duties as requested by the Executive Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferably with a concentration in communications, marketing, or another related field
• Background experience in the areas of administration, office procedures, meeting/event planning preferred
• Knowledge of computers, data entry, word processing, spreadsheets. Specific ability to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Canva, Zoom and Teams. Knowledge of association management software is preferred.

Experience in working within budgets, training in similar work environment and association specific experience preferred
