Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team and contribute to the exceptional care provided to our patients.

Job Summary:

As a Radiology Technologist, you will obtain high-quality radiographs using both stationary and portable equipment. Your role will involve ensuring patient safety, maintaining a clean work environment, and assisting radiologists with imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain quality radiographs in a timely manner, both in the department and using portable equipment.
  • Comply with radiation safety guidelines for both patients and yourself, utilizing personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Perform necessary computer operations, including managing Meditech and PACS systems; ensure proper charges are entered and physician orders are verified.
  • Provide professional and courteous patient care throughout all imaging procedures.
  • Prepare examination rooms for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, monitoring inventory and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Assist the radiologist in administering medications and contrast agents.
  • Review each exam for technical accuracy and ensure all imaging is correctly processed in PACS.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding employee and patient information as per hospital policies.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology. Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure.
  • Licensure/Certification:
  • Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
  • Preferred: Membership in the Society of Radiologic Technology and/or Virginia Society of Radiologic Technology.
  • Experience: Preferred: Minimum of one year as a Radiologic Technologist; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
