Join Our Team as a Field Instrument Technician
Position Location:
DFW, TX
We are seeking an experienced Instrument Technician to assist the Party Chief with proper research before going to a job site and is in charge of operating applicable instruments, including data collectors. This person is expected to accurately collect field data using said equipment.
Essential Functions

Set up a total station, a base set up, and network rovers and accurately gather survey dataMust be able to load CSV, TXT files, shape files, stake out files into a data collector for completion of survey workMust be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel. Must know how to set up file folders and load work files to cloud serversKnow how to perform and set up field survey equipment for OPUS control point and submit the correct files to complete and get OPUS control point to NOAAPerform a closed loop traverse, reduce the data, and run a trig levelMust be able to perform functions such as inverse, resection, stake a line, translate, and rotate coordinates in the fieldPrelim and as-built pipeline experienceMust be able to read a recorded subdivision plat or a metes and bounds legal descriptionBe able to run a map check and list the map error of closure using said equipmentMust be able to locate property corners using a pin finder, recorded deed, or subdivision platMust be able to run line workMust learn field codes specific to Transglobal Services, LLCResponsible for cutting lineMust be able to calibrate a prism rodMust make sure truck is fully equipped every day
All duties performed are to be carried out according to the safety of all personnel at the worksite and to efficiently perform the task
Requirements
Must be able to perform job duties in various terrains and climatesAbility to read instructions, plans, and specificationsAbility to engage in fieldwork for extended periods and occasionally under adverse weather conditions as necessitated by work assignmentsAbility to understand and follow oral and written instructions and sketchesAbility to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the Party Chief, other field personnel, and Transglobal Services, LLC team membersA high school diploma or equivalent is requiredLand surveying experience a plusMust be able to travel 75%.Must be legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust have reliable transportation along with proof of valid drivers license and auto insurance

Work Environment
Work is performed both outdoors and in an office environment. Outdoor work may be conducted at landfills, construction sites, and in traffic.
Physical Demands
To perform the essential functions of the job, incumbents may be required to perform moderately strenuous tasks, such as lifting and carrying instruments weighing up to 75 pounds over rough terrain. Incumbents may also be required to clear vegetation, dig holes, and pound stakes with hand tools.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Saturday and some Sundays, 7am to 7pm (time varies)
Travel:
Overnight travel can be anticipated. Occasional local day travel may be required.
