Job Summary

The area equipment superintendent leads the optimization of our equipment fleet, ensuring seamless operations and minimal downtime across our Sundt field and project locations. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of equipment management, supervising mechanics and technicians while maintaining open lines of communication with project teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Act as the primary contact point for project teams, ensuring they have access to accurate and timely information about equipment availability. Collaborate closely to align equipment resources with project demands.
2. Collaborate with suppliers to source parts and coordinate dealer repairs, contributing to a streamlined equipment maintenance process.
3. Conduct regular, thorough inspections of equipment and vehicles, upholding our commitment to safety, quality, and reliability.
4. Display a deep understanding of equipment financials, enabling you to make cost-effective decisions that align with the Company's best interests.
5. Efficiently allocate resources, manage equipment transport, and ensure optimal equipment availability in close coordination with project teams and the equipment department.
6. Facilitate vehicle titles, registrations, and transfers within the area, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
7. Maintain knowledge of the latest equipment operations, maintenance, safety protocols, troubleshooting, and repair methodologies. Continuously enhance your skills through ongoing training and education.
8. Monitor the usage of owned and rented equipment on respective projects, identifying opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
9. Oversee a team of skilled mechanics and fuel/lube technicians, inspiring excellence in equipment maintenance practices. Your leadership will be integral to maintaining a high-performing and motivated team.
10. Spearhead preventative maintenance and repair initiatives, strategically extending the equipment life cycle and minimizing downtime. Leverage your extensive expertise to make informed decisions that enhance operational efficiency.
11. Utilize advanced techniques, such as fluid analysis, fault code analysis, and telematics data interpretation, to proactively monitor equipment health. Your insights will drive data-informed decision making.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. A minimum of 7 years of experience supervising equipment maintenance and repairs within a contractor or dealership setting.
2. Flexibility and a willingness to travel, along with the ability to work flexible hours as required.
3. High School diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
4. Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite, enabling effective communication and data management.
5. Possess at least 3 years of experience as a journeyman mechanic, demonstrating hands-on expertise.
6. Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems, showcasing your technological proficiency.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
2. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
3. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
4. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
6. Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
7. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
8. Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day.
9. Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs on an occasional basis.
10. Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
