The Port Engineer manages all maintenance, repairs, and modifications for assigned equipment. Ensures assigned personnel and equipment are compliant with regulatory agencies and company policies.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
· Responsible for scheduling, coordination, maintenance, repair, and safe execution of all vessel engineering needs.
· Assists in the development and modification of preventative maintenance plans for vessel equipment.
· Work with PMG operations and compliance staff to assist in keeping vessels compliant with all regulatory agencies.
· Perform inspections of vessels for repair & maintenance standards and procedures.
· Compile and prioritize worklists for each vessel for both routine and major maintenance
· Manage oil sample program
· Maintain spare parts inventories
· Assist vessel crews in preparation for surveys and other regulatory hull and machinery inspections. Attend as needed, on case-by-case basis
· Oversee accurate records of all maintenance performed, including the use of company FMS software program
· Track costs of repair and keep within budget.
· On call as required for vessel engineering issues
· Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:Qualifications
· Microsoft Office, SharePoint/Dropbox
· Excellent written and verbal communication; includes use of proper grammar, spelling, etc.
· High level of integrity for reporting as well as upholding company policy, personal activities, etc.
· Ability to interact with management personnel, vessel personnel and customers
· Ability to own project process from initialization to completion
· Ability to take direction and complete routine tasks.
Physical Demands
· Exposure to prolonged periods of standing, sitting and keyboard input
· Adequate hearing & vision ability.
· Proper heat/cold tolerance, working in all weather conditions.
· Comfortable working while exposed to grease, dirt, paint, water, etc.
