Job Description:

The Marketing and Events Manager plays a critical role in maximizing the utilization of Boston University's campus venues and driving revenue for Events & Conferences. This position focuses on marketing a diverse range of spaces for day-only, multi-day, and overnight conferences, as well as social events. Additional responsibilities include designing and managing event registration sites, while supervising up to two student employees who handle day-to-day registration operations. This role also manages client needs for summer accommodations and year-round conferences, from proposals and contracts to service arrangements, execution, and financial reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have strong marketing and event management experience, focusing on client outreach and venue promotion. Event management is prioritized during spring and summer, with marketing and sales taking precedence in fall and winter.

• Bachelor's Degree and three to five years of relevant experience, with a focus on customer service, events, or hospitality, and demonstrated expertise in marketing within these fields.
• Passion for customer service and the ability to remain calm and positive under pressure while effectively and diplomatically communicating with a variety of constituencies.
• Self-starter with the ability to be proactive and follow through on projects independently.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel and experience in creating/editing websites.
• Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends for events or client meetings.
• Valid Driver's License, knowledge of Boston University and supervisory experience is preferred.
