Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction, designing and developing curriculum, evaluating student performance, and advising students. Candidates must also be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.

To qualify for this position, you must have at least a master's degree in nursing education. Applicants who have a MSN in another area will be required to complete a post-master's certificate in nursing education or successfully complete the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) examination within three (3) years of hire. Candidates must also have a current SC RN license and a minimum of two (2) years clinical experience related to the primary area of the assigned teaching responsibilities, which is Maternal-Newborn nursing.
Preferred QualificationsIdeal candidate will have a knowledge base of nursing education and content related to assigned teaching responsibilities. Clinical experience is consistent with assigned teaching responsibilities. Previous teaching experience in a nursing program is highly preferred. Faculty members must be able to practice nursing as it is defined in the law and should be able to perform these essential functions or, with reasonable accommodations such as the help of compensatory techniques and/or assistive devices, be able to demonstrate ability in these essential functions. Must have cognitive, sensory, and psychomotor functioning to effectively implement nursing care: critical thinking, interpersonal skills, communication ability, hearing ability, visual ability (corrected to 20/40), tactile ability, olfactory ability, and professional attitude and demeanor. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are also essential.
